Simple October Craft Workshop

Saturday, I had the pleasure of crafting with some amazing ladies at the Simple October Craft Workshop! I love being able to share an afternoon making pretty things with new and old friends.

Popcorn, mini vanilla cupcakes, and cake batter sprinkle cookies....yum!

We had some amazing swag from a few of my favorite shops...Creative Carmella,
The Big Red Heart, and Hey Emily Thomas. Each item was so special and I am so thankful for our sponsors!

Door prizes are so fun. We had mini note cards and a cup cozy/coaster set from my shop, Simple October, as well as, a sweet coffee print from Hey Emily Thomas. This photo doesn't do Emily's print justice at all. It's so gorgeous, I had a hard time parting with it!

And...that's a wrap! The Simple October Craft Workshop 2015 was such a good one!

Pinwheels & Good Intentions

Hello, my gorgeous friends!

You know, I started the year thinking I would be able to keep up with blogging more. The momentum that comes with a new year was sweeping my best intentions up in a whirlwind of possibilities. I had grand plans to dedicate more time to this space, but the reality is most of the time it means I have to give up time somewhere else.
Right now, my youngest is still a baby.
I'm homeschooling the twins.
Trying to run a handmade shop & scrambling to keep up because time is literally whizzing by.
So, my friends, please forgive me for all my previous promises to blog more. I promise not to make those promises anymore. ;)

I will, however, post when I can gather my thoughts together enough to blog. And as luck would have it, I have some thoughts to share today. (I'm also typing one handed since I have a clingy, sick, 16 month old. Poor baby.)

This project started with the fabric pinwheels that I'm obsessed with making these days. I seriously can't get enough of them.
Then a few weeks ago, I bought some fantastic gold spray paint. Because I obviously need more spray paint in my life.
Spaghetti is on our menu regularly....which means I have a collection of spaghetti sauce jars.

Gold spray paint + spaghetti sauce jar lids = AWESOME

I had a vision now....jars with gold lids and fabric pinwheels tied to the outside...oh, my stars!

Of course, you already knew that I would have to fill these jars with some extra treats. I mean, how could I not.

I love how they turned out! I made these to give away as Easter gifts but they could be made up for any occasion. Versatility wins!

Thanks for visiting!
xoxo Emily

The Simple October Workshop

Our first ever Simple October Workshop was a blast. We had so much fun crafting and chatting.
I am in awe of how everything came together just right. From selling out the tickets available, to having so many amazing sponsors that wanted to be apart of the event, right down to who won our randomly picked door prizes. To say it was amazing kinda feels like an understatement.

I loved seeing everyone put their own twist to each project we made. Each one was so creative.
I know I'm already looking forward to the next workshop. So much fun!

A HUGE thank you to all our amazing sponsors. I am incredibly grateful for all the small businesses that donated their beautiful products to bless these ladies. This event would not have been half as great without you all.

I'll be sharing more about our sponsors and where you can find their beautiful products very soon.

Another HUGE thank you to my mom and sisters who helped me set up the room, put all the last minute details together, and clean up after the event. I would not have been able to do this without you. Love you three!

If you want to know more about the event or have some specific questions I didn't answer, please comment here or send me an email. :) Thanks!

Simple October Workshops

I have been so excited about sharing this news with you. I guess it's really more like sharing a dream.
You see I've had this dream of hosting workshops where women can come together to create for several years now. I've done a few small ones in my apartment with friends which you can see here, here, and here. They were fun and I loved each one. But I want to dream bigger. Bigger dreams are good.

I'm finally ready to make this dream happen. I'm ready to jump in with both feet and run towards my goal. To create a space where women can get together and create beautiful things. To encourage one another in our dreams, whatever they might be.

My dream is happening in Palatka, FL on October 4th, with the very first Simple October Workshop.

Our workshops are intended for crafters of all skill levels. Experience is not necessary.
When you attend our workshop it's my intention that you feel inspired and confident in creating lovely things for yourself and others.
We'll make three different projects that you'll be able to take home completed at the end of the night. Our theme for this workshop is making your home lovely.

There will be a limited number of tickets available. If you are local to the area, I would love to see you there.
Be prepared for an evening of meeting new & old friends, laughter, creating, and fun.

I'll be opening registration for this workshop on Tuesday, September 9th at 9:00am.

Oh, my gosh! Have I mentioned how excited I am to share this with you? Because I am!

Simple October is now on Instagram. Follow us @simpleoctober.

mom's night out

Last Saturday night, I hosted my first Mom's Night Out in well over a year.
A few local moms came, we had some good food, good chats, and some time away from littles.

Thanks to my friend, Leanne, for helping me with a fun "get to know you" game. These sweet caramels and one of Simple October's new mini cards were our prizes.

I'm hoping to get more moms in our community to join us for next month's MNO.
Make and Take Craft Night? Sound fun? I think so!

Mini Spring Scrapbook Album

My incredible friend, Patty, requested a Spring themed mini scrapbook similar to the mini albums I made last Fall. * This album was so much fun creating. I also really love these cardboard albums. They are my favorite.

*(Oops! Just went looking for a post to link back to the Fall album and realized I never blogged about them. I'll have to follow up with a post about them soon.)
